there's a disturbingly gratuitous and unnecessary sexual assault scene that effectively kills the comedic tone the filmmakers had established prior (and the tone continues to shift wildly and clunkily from that point on), and it is Way Too Long for the story they're trying to tell. the last 20 or so minutes are truly ridiculous; every time i thought the credits were about to roll the scene would go on for another 5 minutes. however, the acting is incredibly good and i quite liked the first half, which redeems it a bit.

one of the rare occasions where the sequel is better than the original, although i think they work best in tandem and make each other better. the soundtrack to both movies is up there with it follows and hereditary for me. lots of jumpscares but it works for this franchise i think. definitely didn't need to be as long as it was and the cgi got way worse for some reason but it's creative and bleak enough that the flaws are easy to overlook. naomi scott kills and i want her in more horror immediately

brutal. it did drag its feet but it kinda worked. would make a good double feature with When Evil Lurks if you want to really torture yourself, although the latter has more of a point to make. i did laugh at some parts but ultimately i just felt nauseous. black mold comedy.
it's also funny to think the salesman is just hawking incredibly cursed furniture. imagine what would have happened if he got that fan.
