    Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Went in expecting fury road and honestly that’s on me. This deserves to be appreciated on its own for how gruesome, gritty and larger than life it is even without the high octane nature of its predecessor so I guess a rewatch is imminent

    The Archies

    ★★

Maybe I’m too much of a pedant when it comes to Archie’s, maybe it’s just that the main trio could not act, maybe the story was too Barbie Thumbelina core (worst barbie movie btw), maybe it’s the fact that it lacked the actual life and spirit of the comics, maybe it’s all of the above (spoiler : it is) but this was disappointing. It’s not that I wanted copy pasted characters from the comics. But some personality would’ve been nice…

I wasn’t expecting myself to like the silence in this as much as I did. The dialogue is bare minimum but the silence and looks carry so much weight. The sound of the paintbrush and the fire crackling and even them just walking around; every thing in this is mesmerising. Every scene is a gorgeous painting and the ending was beautiful even if it wrecked me emotionally. I can’t really explain how this movie felt, but it was very comforting to just witness how it unfolded. Intoxicating in the best possible way.

    Raya and the Last Dragon

    ★★★★

Everything about this is larger than life. The animation is outrageously amazing. The world building is really good. The story is engaging. The characters are likeable. The action is actually exciting. The jokes land. I’m in love with this movie and it’s genuinely such a blast for the entire family. And the chemistry Raya and Namari have >>>>
