The Babadook 2014
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Funnier than i remember and more suspenseful, but the scares never really pay off. Babadook is not in the movie as much as I want it to be. He might as well not be real because most of the possessions are so weak the mom might as well be acting up herself, but maybe that’s the point. Otherwise it works well in the allegory sense, the short film is definitely scarier though check that out.

The more i think about this movie the less i like it. Cool visuals ig and I generally like “elevated horror,” but I still think it needs to be scary to work. More horror elements would’ve been great, rather than a little suspense. Wish it touched more on the supernatural aspects than trying to shove “men are bad” in the audiences face as much as possible.
