Good movies can still be made properly without making such a huge splash in the zeitgeist or the wallet of those producing it. What a lovely snappy movie, with a subtle score, and a fulfilling slow burn.

All That Jazz 1979
A movie I wish I had the talent to make myself but have to live with the fact that it would never even scrape the bottom of this masterpiece. Everything works on such a deep and personal level. Self destruction has never looked so fabulous.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I was entranced the whole time. The best parts of fury road are better, except this time there’s a mix of an emotional character arc mixed with the just survive mindset of fury road. There’s more world building, but a part of me feels that’s what made fury road better, the lack of explantation. Other parts made me love the world building in this.
The only note I have is to make that villain confrontation scene way way shorter. Don’t even bother engaging in that dialogue, cause it’s rather unnecessary by that point in the movie.
Performances rocked. New car designs rocked. This movie is nails.
