    Mississippi Burning

Kind of corny, but also made me even more aware of how some of my friends are talking about trans people in the same way that the KKK talked about black people in Mississippi in the 60s. This is the timeline we live in I guess 😅

    Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!

    ★★★½

Godawful soundtrack, and gets a bit to excited for it’s own good at times, but in the end a pretty decent neo noir well worth a watch. Honestly, I cant think of a neo noir better than this made in the last decade, so if that’s your bag, give it a go!

    ★★

A big, loud mess. The pacing sucks, jumps from key scene to key scene and forgets about the politics and characters that makes Dune a compelling book. The world building is surprisingly bad. Arrakeen seem like a dead city… The characters are also uninteresting, as Denis removes all parts that made them good in the first place. Don’t even get me started with Pauls visions, the terrible over acting, the servant putting the Crysknife back in the sheath without drawing…

    Dragon's Heaven

    ★★½

Great animation, vivid colors, fabulous mecha designs, wonderful mœbius lifted/inspired artwork, hilarious nuclear blast, uninteresting plot, too short and the long intro/end credits with the live action mecha looks more like a school project than anything else.

But for the excellent animation and visuals, definitely worth a look.

Would I put almost any random piece of this film on my wall: Hell, yes. Would I want to see this as a full fledged feature with a proper plot: absolutely. Would I watch it again as it stands: probably not.
