Really liked this movie! Thought they lived across from each other at first, until the last shot, where you see they're neighbours technically. Their paths never cross directly in the movie. Also really like the German name of the movie — Einsam Zweisam.

Definitely enjoyed some aspects of this film, very beautifully shot, great soundtrack, and in principle an interesting story. However, I felt myself wanting the movie to end quicker after having watched the thousandth neverending ball-flying-over-net sequence (also the Ball POV made me feel motion sickness lol). What was even worse were the paid partnerships in this movie. Hated it, couldn't escape it, ateast 3 brands that were constantly advertised, really took me out of the movie.

As Tears Go By 1988
Finally watched Wong Kar-Wai's debut film, and given that he is one of my favourite directors, it was exactly what I expected - a beautifully shot and enjoyable movie. Interesting to see how the techniques and themes he perfected in Chungking Express or In the Mood for Love take root in his first film. A romance x Hong Kong underground scene movie, with a main character set on self destruction. My only note... why did they have to be cousins 😭
