Nice suspense throughout the first half of the movie. After the first reveal I felt like the story lost a bit of weight; I didn’t care as much for the characters afterwards.

Both a wondrous and agonizing watch, the movie stuck with me after viewing. Camerawork, sound design and music are also from Amiko's point of view, drawing you into the particular things she notices but others don't. As she grows up (and also due to a traumatic family incident), the people closest to her begin to stop tolerating her and her quirks. A sense of resignation emanates from the people around her, and eventually turns to disgust and neglect.
