Ah yes, the perils of new technology. TV warps your body and your mind! Damn, couldn't take my eyes off Debbie Harry, think I'd do anything for her. It's all not as perfect as The Fly but still fantastic, even if it left me wanting a little.

The Notorious Bettie Page 2005
This is unfortunately a very superficial look at Bettie Page's life. Background characters are inconsequential, and events are introduced and skipped over so quickly. I ended up having to go on wiki while watching to find out anything concrete. Great casting of the lead though, and from what I have seen some nice recreations of her modelling work.

Nosferatu 2024
Nicely atmospheric, everything looks great (apart from that moustache) but I struggled to feel the horror and tension and stakes (not a pun). But then I'm never fully convinced by Eggers' films. They are always technically brilliant and visually immersive but that's where it stops for me. And yet every new film of his I'm foolishly expecting connection. Still, I did love the sequence of Nosferatu's silhouette slipping over the shadows on the walls. And that shuddering whole-body sucking noise…

Memoir of a Snail 2024
MIFF #5
Gorgeous animation, such a unique style. Visually rich and packed with so many details, jokes and references. Narratively I didn't love it. Not sure all of the messaging works and some of the dark 'humour' was a bit traumatic and mean-spirited. Loved the relationship with Pinky.
