Unfortunately this was very disappointing to me. There were too many threads and themes while the main storyline of Bailey’s coming of age felt underdeveloped. Bird’s background was left in the unknown and left him as a weird and unconnected character. There were some moments (like Bailey’s and Bird’s first encounter) that seemed promising but just stayed kind of stiff to me. That stiffness sticked with me. I really liked “wasp” but unfortunately I really didn’t like “bird” :(

The Turning Point 2021
Not Boring, at times feels like a comic, which is cool bc its part of the plot, though not sure whether I like the aesthetics, feels very viewer adjusted.. interesting for sure. On the other hand, the rather flat characters are almost entirely based on stereotypes, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but didn’t work here for me. Weird dialogues and very male. Entertaining, but that’s all.

Queer 2024
Sure the shots are beautiful and the first part is charming but these over the top landscapes and sunsets that almost seem like they’re not supposed to look real make me kind of angry. Plus the jungle scene and the unnecessary cgi animals.. After the first part the film lost me completely, there was nothing to feel but to wait if there’s still some sense coming in. In the end several scenes were way too long just like the film…
