Stylish, sensual, and satisfied the female gaze enough to capture my investment throughout. Performances were great and I appreciated how it was kept between the two of them. Plot was nothing and the ending was abrupt, like sharply waking up from a nonsense dream. I enjoyed the tense silence, though it was driven by an undertone of domestic abuse. What I’m sick of: Media that romanticizes emotional dysfunction in otherwise “glamorous” relationships. But I think we get this from a Hollywood native like Sophia Coppola because abuse is glamorized in Hollywood like water is wet. Could definitely get a costume nom.
