  how we rely on visual documentation today is so double-edged that it scares me. while convenient (and necessary), the tech can fail us at any point and, sometimes, for no tangible reason at all. if we had no storage space and proper archival practices, it's as if none of the things that we've seen, read, or made had actually existed.

  how do we determine if something is important enough to take note of? to record? to preserve? did some memories actually happen? it's so scary how easy it is now to lose things
