Great character driven comedy after a long time. After rewatching this film, my impression on humour and conversations bw Toros, Garnik and Igor grew a lot.

Contempt 1963
61 years since this vibrant, hard hitting and beautiful tale between Camille and Paul. Never thought that I would see Fritz Lang act in a Godard film. Shot very stylistically. How a relationship can become sour and bitter. Amazing music score throughout the film, that single piece is mind-blowing. I agree with Jeremy's theory of the Odyssey (how Ulysses loves his wife but she doesn't love him back). Brilliant use of Greek tale like The Odyssey and how Godard has brought it in this story (with the statues we see early in the film). I wish Camille stayed with Paul.

Ran 1985
RAN is an adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear. Ran is one of the greatest epic samurai films that I have ever seen. Kurosawa's battle sequences in Ran are among the most remarkable. This film is unique in portraying the truth of war, lust, betrayal, forgiveness and greed. The framing, composition, and distinct use of color in this film are testimony to Kurosawa's brilliance. His craft of filmmaking is impeccable. This film deserves to be watched by everyone at some point.
