  Let me get the most important part of this out of the way. I want Nicole Kidman. Bad. 

  I'm already a sucker for sub-dom relationships in film, especially when there is an established power dynamic (outside of the relationship) that influences it. Layering that with a wide age gap is even better. This choice sets up a really interesting look at control and intimacy.

  I hope that's the last time I have to see Emma Stone bush for the rest of my life. 

  Great film though. It was stylistically a bit much for me but I can appreciate the artistry of it all. The cast was excellent.

  After watching 'Chloe' (2009) I realized that WLW with the additional layer of a generation gap is arguably the best route to take a WLW story. Carol brings another element to the fold having this story set in the 1950's where homosexual relationships are seen as much too odd.
