    Perfect movie to see with my mom. genuinely, consistently funny and doing justice to January, my birth month, as not a boring month for movies; would watch multiple movies with this Keke & SZA pairing. Thought about LA right now even more between the laughs, and Singleton and Rae both within the context of the Black LA that Issa really built visually through Insecure in particular (which is also in the lineage of others before it.)

    It does say a lot about the state of wide release comedy movies though that almost every trailer before this was for a horror movie…

    To be fair, I’m not knowledgeable enough about Dylan or his music to consider this in that regard but did leave this wondering what it’s trying to say at all knowing what I do know about this era of music 

    Justice for Sylvie & Joan; and wishing Monica Barbaro was on screen the entire time; the first time she sings as Joan, locked in in a way the movie only really reaches again when she’s onscreen (I had a Judee Sill deep dive a few years ago and now I’ll probably do the same for Joan!)

    I’m not particularly sure I can say I liked or agree with the decision to create a film surrounding this or to show the graphic imagery they do towards the end. I just don’t feel good after watching this, and I’m so sorry those children never got to lead their lives. I just feel very disgusted by this tor some reason and shouldn’t have watched this before bed.
