Her 2013
I really enjoyed this. My impression of Her before a watch had me a little hesitant, but I was surprised by the level of world building and nuance of the relationships. I doubt I’ll do another watch, but I’m glad I had a chance to see it. Scar Jo’s vocal work was stellar and Joaquin is a Juaking.

I love found footage as a concept, but damn this underwhelmed. I appreciate what it is going for and riding the wave that Blair Witch brought to the main stream is creative but oof. Also, Micah is a piece of shit.

White Noise 2022
I’ll be honest, I was not over or under but perfectly whelmed by this movie. Love love love the visual palette it established and the absolute treat that was the camera work. The camera should be a character in every movie. But this ended up feeling like three different short films all combined. I loved the first pivot but the marital storyline felt like a perpendicular shift. Also I better have a Hitler Studies class in my future.
