Legendary. I have no words for how mind-numbingly insane this film gets. The Safdies have a signature style of tension that is so unique. Tension in their films does not come from scenes, but from situations. It carries along, never breaking, suffocating the viewer. Uncut Gems’ suspense is especially masterful because of its sound design. Lines are constantly said over each other, leaving the viewer overwhelmed and lost.
