It is on the burden of the documentarian to prove their case and I believe Questlove fully when he says that Sly Stone was a genius.

Great documentary with lots of people in the Family band and others around Sly about his life.

He influenced so many artists and phases of culture and did it in style.

One thing that has been grinding my gears lately with documentaries, particularly streaming documentaries, is the trailer of the film being the opening, laying…

This film does itself a disservice by playing most of the movie like a silly dramedy with elements of a romcom because the last half hour is filled with intense, beautiful moments that speak directly to your heart. However, I think the people that would need this movie most might turn it off before that.

Maybe it was low expectations, maybe it was Rachel Zegler, but I really enjoyed Snow White.

The new songs (minus the Queen song) and the additions to the original songs are fantastic. I’ll be singing them through the spring, I’m sure.

Zegler was great as always. Dopey is maybe the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I got past the dwarves design very quickly and thought they were fine.

Gadot was horrible casting and was not good as the Evil Queen.…

I understand why people didn’t see this, but those people are wrong.

An absolute stunner of a film. It makes most other biopics look like shit. It’s so fun, so self aware, so flashy that you can’t take your eyes off of it.

The motion capture is outrageously good, the music placement is great, and the spectacle is grand.

The two most recognizable songs in this for me were My Way (not Robbie Williams) and Never Ever (not Robbie Williams). And it didn’t matter one bit. This will easily make my top 20 of the year and might sneak in my top 10.
