Gotta be the godfather of mastering dialogue and developing characters subliminally. Perfect formatting for selling and understanding a story. I can’t say enough about this film. Oddly a comfort film. A true inspiration to what I do and what I want to do. Tarantino is just guy that loves films. That’s all he is in simple terms. We see that and appreciate that. He is truly a director’s director. When I think of a clear and concise vision, Quentin Tarantino is the king. Truly a jack of all trades and master to all.

Mickey 17 2025
I really enjoyed the character stories and part of the overall story but some fell flat. It got super preachy at points and very political. It also deals with different class struggles and views of people as Bong Joon-Ho has done before. I enjoyed the world building and cinematography of the whole thing but it felt like Snowpiercer in space. Heavily unironically believe that Robert Pattinson should get an Oscar nom for both Best Performance and Supporting Performance for Mickey…

Star Wars 1977
A true impact in cinema. I like to think of Star Wars as the turning point in visual storytelling. Across the revolutionary special effects, the use of miniature, the insane world building, and a perfect representation of the hero’s journey. Just to add a cherry on top we get John Williams’ beautiful score. Star Wars will always be one of the core parts of who I am and it will continue to affect my filmmaking.
(Also I counted at least 2 focal length zooms. Rules were made to be not only broken but pioneered.)
