  This went from the Whedon version being one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen to the Snyder Cut maybe being in my top 3 superhero movies ever? Snyder’s fully restored vision is the grandiose, sprawling, moving epic of gods, monsters, and mortals that he’s been trying to make his whole career. Even when it doesn’t fully work (the Aquaman/Atlantis stuff is just plain bad, there’s some wonky CGI, and the last 30 minutes are devoted…

  A deeply personal and emotionally overwhelming experience for me. The Tree of Life made me homesick for my childhood, and this made me feel homesick for the last ten years of my life. But also felt like closure on that chapter. So incredibly freeing to know that a filmmaker like Malick still operates today, and on such a deeply affecting level.
