I think everyone knew it was unrealistic for Bong Joon Ho's next film to top Parasite, so I came with tempered expectations. Mickey 17 is a fun satirical sci-fi comedy that points out the absurdity of corporate greed, capitalism and dumbass political leaders. This is Bong's blockbuster so it's by no means his deepest work, yet I can't help but have a fun time.

Violet Evergarden: The Movie 2020
The film concludes Violet's character arc so eloquently & conveys just how much emotional maturity she's gained throughout her journey, tackling what love truly means. Paralleling the events from Episode 10 of the series was such a great choice. Really shows the emotional intelligence of Violet and how she's come to understand emotions that were once unknown to her. KyoAni's character animation was nothing short of stunning, with so much personality injected into every single frame! Had to hold back some tears.

Josee, the Tiger and the Fish tells an age old story but is still nonetheless relevant about chasing after your dreams, despite your circumstances. With an immaculate use of colour and great directing, it's a wonderful film to look at and can get emotionally poignant at times.
