My only real experience with the Alien franchise up to this point was seeing Alien: Romulus in theatres as well as some scattered clips of Alien: Isolation. This was a really interesting one, I find myself wanting to compare it to “Tetsuo: The Iron Man” because the way bodies and flesh are treated in this OVA are almost a complete inverse of that film. Very fun movie, this was my first engagement with anything tokutatsu or cutie honey related and it left me wanting more.
The costumes were all wonderfully campy and the villains in partciular had so much going on that it felt like I noticed new details every time one was on screen.
