The most striking part to me is the constant, harsh blue-white floodlight that seems to permeate every scene. It beams out from headlamps on the exploration of the surface and radiates from the back of most scenes like a lightbox under an animation cell. Incredibly fun movie, just a barrage of cheesy and low-budget looking effects all layered on top of wacky camera angles and incredibly campy character designs. Having only vague familiarity with tokusatsu and Cutie Honey as a franchise didn’t affect how good of a time it was. Great makeup and costuming.
