  I was expecting something laconic like The Lighthouse, but the film was overloaded with formulaic dialogue, Lily-Rose Depp's performance made me grin at times, and the banal use of music (put it under any other horror - nothing changes) irritated me throughout the film. It could have been a masterpiece, but alas.
