Two and a half hours of screaming, swearing, the most horrendous characters speaking the worst dialogue I’ve heard all year. The film drags along from boring scene 1 to irritating scene 2. I wanted to fast forward but stuck with it due to all the praise. Oh, apparently it’s a comedy? Did I watch the right film?

    Palme d’Or my arse.

One of the problems with being passionate about film and seeking out all of the mainstream classics is that, sooner or later, nothing feels fresh anymore, nothing surprises you and you feel like you’ve seen it all. That’s when you know it’s time to watch a Gasper Noé film.

Of the four Noé films that I’ve now seen, I can only confidently say that I’ve really enjoyed one of them. But I have not forgotten any of them and have…
