Sort of half-baked. Some of the jokes felt ad libbed (mostly in a bad way!) and others were broad as hell (also mostly in a bad way!) This felt like the product of one of those sitcom plots where someone pulls an all nighter to meet a script deadline. Most of all, not very funny except to the lady sitting behind us in the theater who gasp-laughed at every bit.

Coming-of-age tropes against a backdrop of hate and unfairness but also resistance and love. I'm convinced that the plot cliches were intentional. My body relaxed whenever the Mohawk characters returned home, even though they were under siege.

This has the same story as a Tom Waits song, which I wish I could say about more movies.
