I am not fan of the Baz Luhrmann but I do respect some of his work, mainly Moulin Rouge. Elvis was not it. Luhrmann style of filmmaking is not appropriate for a figure like Elvis who is such a controversial and complicated person. Luhrmann TELLS the entire story, not shows. Hour and half in and I didnt know who I was watching. There is not possibility to connect with Elvis with his fast past and overly (and I mean overly) dramatic style. He breezes over controversial actions of Elvis and the racism of the time. The only good thing about this film was Austin Butler.
