Poor Things 2023
This is tough for me to articulate… but Poor Things is something else. The art direction is out of this world, the script is deep, witty and existential. The comedy hits when it needs to, and exactly the right note. Stone and Ruffalo are seismic. Basically, Poor Things is special and I promise you’ve never seen anything like it.
Get through the first 20 mins as it will test you. It’s a hard and harrowing journey, an odd coming of age drama drowning in surrealism, all with a powerful feminist arc beating through it. Masterfully handled.
