  Why did they make this movie so bad? What’s with the bad storytelling, unlikeable characters, dumb scenes and dull humor? It’s a shame because I kind of was looking forward to this one. Also, that monkey totally looks like the one from Toy Story 3!!!!

  I don’t consider this a full-on masterpiece since it won so many awards, but it was still a pretty good movie. I’m glad that this didn’t go as a Pretty Woman sequence and more towards harsh reality of the sex-working lifestyle. For this being over 2 hours, they could have minimized it a bit.   Finally was able to see this! This was a great prequel! Better than the remake of the first one. It had a strong narrative of the origin story of Mufasa, Mufasa and Taka/Scar’s relationship, meeting the other characters, how Taka becomes Scar and the establishment of Pride Rock. Some of the songs were good and some were not. The CGI in this was a huge improvement, as well as the character’s movements and expressions. The scenery of Africa was beautiful…
