In a world with so much hate against migrants, a movie that shows what it takes to truly belong and the sacrifices one has to make along the way. Touched a sore spot and ended up with my eyes wet in more than one spot. A movie that works on every level from start to finish, going to revisit it several times over.

At some point I forgot I was watching a movie and was transported to Tokyo, cleaning toilets and living Hirayama's life. Felt like going into a temple watching the movie in the kino along with the handful of other patrons. Makes life a little better when you come out, I know today's going to be a perfect day.

It's impossible to conceive this movie was ever made. Within the thic bundles of philosophic ideas is the story of creation and a meditation on what intelligence and life actually means. In a world where the use of AI (or the misuse of the word) ha become commonplace this movie becomes even more relevant. Cannot unsee the influence it has had on other Sci-Fi films but none of them even come as close to the brilliance of Ghost in the…
