A well-made police procedural and my first time seeing Steve McQueen on-screen. He’s got the sauce as Frank Bullitt. Can we talk about his outfits?

The car chase sequence was what prompted me to give this film a shot in the first place and it exceeded all my expectations. Crafted with precision, it’s extremely impressive, especially for its time. Will always have an appreciation for practical effects and stunt coordination! The people behind such feats don’t get enough credit.

Movie goes absolutely bonkers and I can’t help but effusively gush about it when someone asks for my thoughts. There’s a lot to love and appreciate here and a staple for those that love the art of action, me.

Chow Yun-Fat being Chow Yun-Fat, The relationships, the gorgeous symbolism in every shot, the dual-wielding, the jazz, the one takes, the practical effects, the baby (!) and just the sheer ability of Woo to direct such a stylish, gun-blazing spectacle goes hard every time. It’s all there, cemented.

A movie I would have loved to watch with dad.

While the narrative was lacking in some areas and the action sequences could have been a bit more extended, completely subjective take by the way, the enjoyment was there.

Ryan Gosling absolutely carried this film on his back. Maybe I’m biased but anyone…

Some really well shot action scenes capturing the chaos that ensues. However, the villain didn’t work me. I love my man Jung Hae-In and his performance was chilling but it was tragically wasted on a character with no real narrative trajectory other than being evil despite it feeling like there was meaning behind his crimes. This made his motivations feel inconsistent, directly affecting the themes of the movie or at least what I thought they were. It went from something…
