Didn't fully understand the film, finding out afterwards that it was a retelling of prometheus did make a lot of sense. My favorite 2 actors in a visually brilliant film. Its a shame (but not really) that I kept finding myself distracted by the clear and arousing image of mermaid pussy dead centre of the screen

The Art of Self-Defense 2019
Jesse Eisenberg was perfectly cast for this role. Although every actor was very good in their role, the premise of the movie very quickly became unbelievable and almost comical. The ending is abrupt, in a way that is clearly intentional but after the senseless violence you see earlier in the film it is almost a relief. The social commentary on toxic masculinity is so blatant that it undercuts itself quite often, it is clear what it is trying to say…

A film with a relatively compelling story, the gimmick of having badass growly talking mean in black and white with either blood or lipstick being the only colour in the film stopped being as cool quickly. A relatively enjoyable watch but does drag on about half an hour longer than it needed to.
