    What a beautiful and immersive film, it does a great job making you feel invested in the journey despite having no human speech to lend its message through. From the movement to the behavior of each animals, they all feel natural. It does have a video game vibe to it from its impressive visuals and soundtrack, but I feel like it has enough going for it to be film-worthy. It definitely deserves its Oscar win and I hope this opens up new windows not only for the director, but other aspiring indie studios to keep the animation medium fresh and alive.

    I get the same feeling as Okja where it's fun to see Bong Joon-Ho play around with these Hollywood actors and give them exagerrated and bizarre roles, but at the same time I feel like the trade-off with that one is having to dumb down the themes of the story so that it would still be palatable to the white audience.     A great example that you don't need a mesmerizing score or emotional talking heads to create a powerful documentary.

    The lack of music or voice-overs is very fitting. It gives a very despondent vibe given the subject matter. The imagery is its strongest asset. It doesn't shy away from showing decomposing bodies being recovered from rotting apartments. There's a lot more memorable scenes aside from that, equally haunting and sad.

    My only issue here is that it's sort of loosely-plotted…
