    Safe - the feeling that all anxiety sufferers long for. But total unadulterated safety, from the outside world, from your past traumas, or from your own sick thoughts, is ultimately unattainable and actually gets further away the longer and faster you chase it. 

    As a long time anxious girly and newly diagnosed ocd haver, I have never watched another’s sufferings so eerily similar to my own. I have felt what she felt in the last scene - in an environment custom designed to maximize safety - that is actually just as horrifying and isolating as the outside world.

    An ode to food.
     
    Even though I watched this movie after a big meal, I was left craving a bowl of yummy ramen. This film was funny, sensual, entertaining, and incredibly engaging from beginning to end. From Goro and Tampopo to various shop owners and sidekicks we meet along the way (thinking of you, Ramen Sensei), each character and the respective roles they played in Tampopo’s journey was perfectly crafted.
