  all the old men look the same and have the same sounding italian names.
  streaming it off a site that crashed every 20 minutes and didnt have subtitles for the italian bits may not have helped.
  will need a rewatch to judge.
  and yet despite the hurdles, it was still enjoyable throughout, and the acting was very grounded and cinematography beautiful.

  im so mad this literally has nothing to do with the book. i dont think anyone involved with this film has ever even opened it. if you change the title and rename the characters, no one would ever guess this was based on the masterpiece by remarque. jesus christ. they even managed to make the title meaningless.
