this movie is like a Frankenstein mashup of like all of the famous psychological thrillers of the last 5-10 years, but does nothing really original on its own to make itself stand out. a lot of the movie relies on shock factor but doesn’t quite get quite as far as it needs to when it tries to graphically depict the horrors of cyclical abuse and sexual exploitation. in a lot of ways, Blink Twice feels very “safe” in the way…

i love how for this movie to be so effortlessly funny they’ve utilized every single scene to make peter parker’s life as miserable as possible.
while i was scream laughing at the 2+ hours of spider-man torture porn, the main downside of this film (much like every spider-man film in this franchise to be fair lol) is the mj/peter romantic subplot which i feel has to be an intentional joke on Sam Raimi’s part because it only serves to make both peter and mj look like complete dickheads.
