a lot of the ideas kicking around in this movie have been kicking around in my head for a long time, so it feels difficult to evaluate in a way. if anyone who hasn’t engaged w/ the writers, musicians, and artists that this movie is implicitly and explicitly speaking with comes away with a new desire to listen + think about listening then that’s great

i'm maybe in the minority here but i liked this better than the 1967 version. slightly less striking cinematography in this one but i think the acting, costumes, writing, directing, etc all work way better here.
