There isn’t a moment where I’m bored but there also isn’t a moment where I’m deeply engaged. All that’s left is the strength of the individual scenes, which range from lukewarm to good. Jeremy Strong does great, and at times the music is fantastic.

I love the idea that an environment and the demands of life create someone - especially in regards to who they emulate.

I am not a fan of X time earlier as a storytelling device, but if you’re going to use it, this is how it’s done. Toxic competition, stylish shots, and a rewardingly predictable but exhilarating conclusion. Solid.

At times the flashbacks get a little jumbled as they are consistently jumping all over the place, but their narrative remains intact. Too bad I don’t understand tennis rules, as flashing ‘match point’ on the screen apparently doesn’t mean this is the point…

Glad someone sat down and realized what the first movie was missing:

    - a forced love triangle (that goes nowhere)
    - tons of bloated emotional scenes (that do nothing)
    - more supporting characters (that are unexplored)

Visually breathtaking, but completely lacking the economy of the first. Could probably be cut down to an hour fifteen without missing much. There’s an entire 20 minute chase sequence after a character that can turn invisible.

Wow. This movie swung for the fences on style. Missed it, but it still swung hard.
Chalamet and Pattison do some serious work, and the battle on the hill is really well done. The janky, unglamorous looking armour, the mud, the chaos. Really well done.
I am no expert but this felt like the closest example I’ve seen of portraying realistic medieval soldiers fighting. Just muddy stabbing.
The plot feels all over the place and feels like it has too much…
