  as someone born in diaspora to two bosniak parents, i imagine my experience watching this film is different from many others who did the same (and probably makes me a little biased).

  what really broke me down wasn't the long, stressful build towards tragedy, or even the violence itself, but the aftermath: a woman confronting the people who shamelessly took her home; a mother sobbing before her son's remains, only made recognizable by his jacket.
