  Captain America: Brave New World 2025

  Mid-tier Marvel at best, all potential and so-so delivery. The Kawhi Leonard of Lonzo Balls. Probably hamstrung by the fact that it didn't want to say anything of note other than "be your own Captain America", which was covered better (though still not great) in Falcon and the Winter Solider. Action was solid.

  The cinematography for this will be etched in my memory for a while. Gorgeous. It had a slightly predictable ending, but it was still a thrilling ride to get there.

  If this isn't in my top 10 for the year then I've had a PHENOMENAL year for movies. Beautifully textured film. Riz blew me away, Oscar worthy performance. In fact everyone in this was amazing. I'm glad the director chose not to provide subtitles (at least in the version I saw), it forced me to do more work to understand and engage. Also made me feel like Ruban does at times, lost and confused in a new world. I want to learn at least basic sign language now. Oh, and the cinematography? Gorgeous.

  It was marginally better written than the first, but it didn't need to be 2hrs long or with the human sub-plot in Hawaii (although bless Natasha Rothwell - she carried that).
