Anora is a wonderful film that impressively blends drama, comedy, romance while excelling in each. It explores themes of power and vulnerability in ways that catch you off guard and is deftly interwoven with surprisingly funny dialogue/characters. The best movie I've seen this year by far.
This documentary has no real narrative and very few major events. It just shows some performances from Tom Petty shows with some brief interviews throughout. Great movie.
Like many family dramas, Tokyo Story builds up subtle, often unseen, tensions.
Uncomfortable, tight environments, and restricted, formal language restrain an immense amount of anguish and seemingly wasted effort and emotion.
If you leave the movie like I did, extremely frustrated and a bit depressed, give it some time and reflection.
