Kinds of Kindness 2024
Religion (Θρησκεία), Country (Πατρίδα), Family (Οικογένεια), are all concepts that are attacked in Kinds of Kindness.
Religion: “The Death of R.M.F“
Willem Dafoe works in mysterious ways. Dafoe returns in the position of “God” in Kinds of Kindness, but this time he shows a more sinister side of divinity. The all consuming, omnipresent one. Probably the best of the three stories, it defied my expections for a film that i heard that many mixed reviews.
Country: “R.M.F. Is Flying"

Hard to Be a God 2013
With a 3 hour runtime and a confusing plotline this is probably not a film for everyone, yet it’s one I’m pretty sure I’ll be talking about for a long time. Sisyphus 1974
It’s always hard to rate short films.

The Substance 2024
The “monster” at the end wearing the face of the original actress is literally this film. A shallow abomination borrowing the face of much better films. Contrary to the title it had no substance.
It’s the first time that I see a film that thinks so little of its audience. Subtlety is a lost art.

Brazil 1985
Films that I didn’t expect Robert De Niro to be in them, are becoming my favourite genre of Film.
On a more serious note, Brazil is an amazing kafkaesque story where the protagonist, in contrast to similar films, has vast knowledge of the inner workings of their illogical work and has actually a hold in the power hierarchy of the system itself. Despite all that, even though he could continue living comfortably within the system, doing so would mean sacrificing…
