A slow moving, contemplative, beautifully shot, wonderfully narrated , live action poem that stuns in its silence and speaks to your soul during times of dialogue. Terrence Malick has always been a man of mystery and great work. The stories he’s weaved on screen have been from places of realism and the mundane; rather than scenes that feel overproduced, acted and beyond grandeur. We know this because he has no problem editing out full performances or storylines he doesn’t like…

Halloween 1978
I will be upfront and say that I have never been the biggest fan of Halloween or most slasher movies. I’m not a slasher movie lover. However I will also admit that I had this too low. I’ve given it a lift from 1 1/2 stars to 3.

No One Will Save You 2023
A boring, non rousing and unimaginative experience. The main character is uninteresting and the lesson she learns by the end is ass backward and extremely weird. The aliens are poorly imagined and all the themes, motifs, and storytelling found in its run time are unoriginal, and sadly beside that, not fun or engaging. This movie becomes old news ten minutes in.

While I think everything surrounding Joe as a character was the most interesting and none trope-y thing about the film, the film crashes and burns with its need to be overtly cheesy and melodramatic.
I’m unsure what the movie is trying to say or trying to do with its thematic elements, it’s confusing on its voice and then you add this score into film that sounds like a royalty free soundtrack and it’s even more confounding. None of this worked for me and it’s probably one the worst movies I’ve seen in a while.
