So this film has 12 year old Saoirse Ronan in brown face... so that's a thing.
Sure it's a historical piece, but the use of it feels entirely unnecessary and it fails to really create any social commentary from it. The act they're performing in context could just as well not have employed a ton of racial stereotypes, or it could have drawn on its imagery more to make a point.
