I never knew I could be so moved by a documentary. Seeking Mavis Beacon is an electric meditation on memory, friendship, and agency. It has a politic but also so much levity. Laughter and tears. Jazmin and Olivia are rigorous archivists committed to the truth (including and especially decolonial forms of meaning-making). They also really know how to play and do so with such style. An absolute must watch!
