  I think rewatching this definitely bumps this up half a star. It’s impossible to not see how charming and adorable this is even if everything doesn’t quite land. This draws comparisons to Paddington however it doesn’t shy away from standing on its own two feet. Not all songs are winners but the ones that do (For a moment and A World of Your Own), really capture the wonderful world of Wonka. Would happily rewatch this again! (Also my gf said that this movie would be 10x better if Abigail the giraffe sang and I would have to agree with her on that).
