It's no secret that in recent years DC has failed to compare to Marvel, with the obvious exception of Wonder Woman. BVS was dreadful and even Man of Steel was extremely weak. I enjoyed Justice League more than both these films, despite its glaring flaws. A dreadful villain with a dreadful back story and changing character dynamics that confuse the story. Despite this between the 4 recent DC universe movies, this ranks as my second favourite. I weirdly enjoyed this…

I'm currently researching psychology and this film provides me with many thoughts for the writers of this story. The sadistic nature of this film is deeply unsettling but the theme of silence and subtletly kept me gripped through this arty story telling. Both leaders actors, particularly Bardem where tense, unsettling and impressive. A very symbolic and original story, not at all for the faint hearted.
