Every now and then a movie comes along that is so completely terrible that it's difficult to put all the reasons why into a coherent thought. The Predator is one of those movies.

The Darkest Minds 2018
This movie is the most derivative thing I have ever seen. Its not bad and is clearly aiming for an adolescent demographic but it is nothing more than a watered down hunger games. It's hard to recommend The Darkest Minds when there are enough alternatives that handle the themes and premise of this movie with more care amd impact.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 2018
The bit on the island was dumb fun but brief, the rest of the movie seemed like it was written by toddlers. I like the over all message of the movie, that humanity is garbage, but the execution of the film was fucking woeful. It'll be forgotten about in no time and will just be another in the long line of shit blockbusters. It's a shame since it really shouldn't be that difficult to make a movie about dinosaurs entertaining.

Solo: A Star Wars Story 2018
The first act is terrible and panders too much on the older films but once the plot kicks in the movie is actually pretty fun. While Alden isn't even close to being as charismatic as Ford his performance is passible and the rest of the cast carry the scenes well enough to keep it from feeling stale. The movie definitely has problems but it's not the train wreck I was expecting.
