  2001: A Space Odyssey 1968

  For its huge scale and epic timetable (from apes to mini Gods), I think 2001: A Space Odyssey is actually a very tight screenplay. Despite the punishingly long shots of spacecraft flying or colors flooding the screen, every scene and shot is purposeful.

  I got to watch this in theaters for the first time ever, which is something I thought I’d never get to do!
