  The first film of Eggers I have enjoyed, and this is due to him truly being able to radically transform this text into something new and bold.

  A privilege to be able to see this animation on screen in 2024 in the States, but W&G has sadly lost its touch a bit with this entry. Endearing buddy comedy duo was traded in for a stop motion action flick with a mindless-army-of robots villain. But maybe worst of all, Wallace has not only gone from endearingly dumb to offensively dumb, but also very uncaring and cruel to his best friend, poor Gromit🥲🥲🥲.  I hope I never have to hear the word Norbot ever again.

  A really disappointing follow up to 20th Century Women, from someone who loves that film to death. 

  This film is beautiful and its well paced, well acted, etc. It’s careful to not be too sweet and not be too pretentious. It nails things tonally. 

  Mills does amazing here to treat kids with the intelligence, complexity, and agency that they deserve. That’s rare and should be celebrated. And as a director and writer I think he handles compassion and human connection…
