The Warriors 1979
I only kinda dig it on rewatch.
Nothing really happens. It feels like the imagination games I played on the playground with mates.

12 Angry Men 1957
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Beyond reasonable doubt a good movie, even if a spineless Don Draper doppelgänger does nothing except doodle. I want Davis’ angelic close-up glow every time I convince someone the death penalty is wrong. Now release the uncut version where the men are angrier, hotter, and more righteous. Anyway, I must go. I just saw a boy in the next village kill his father.

Dune 2021
IMAX was so big I could smell Timothy's jaw bone.
Watching this film was very much like reading the book; I was enraptured by the grandness, the scope, the worlds and warring families, the austere halls and augmented humanity, the predestiny and plots spanning millennia, but I didn't feel for the characters as much as I would have liked.
Regardless, the human imagination is a marvellous thing. I suspect Herbert and Villeneuve have sniffed fat slugs of the sacred spice and their works are their way of sharing.

Avatar: The Way of Water 2022
Carmela Soprano: ‘We gotta kill the Na’vi, Tony’ *sips coffee in mech suit*
What do I have to say about Avatar: The Way of Water? No, seriously. For such a mammoth undertaking, the experience feels very shallow 😉 and didn’t stir much in me.
I admit, there were one or two scenes that plastered a smile on my face from the sheer spectacle or tugged a few heart strings, but beyond that I was slightly bored.
Also, the janky frame rate…
